Especially rewarding to Dr. Fox and Dr. Chohan, is
working with children of all ages to create a positive experience for
a lifetime of good oral health. How we perceive the dentist as an adult
is largely determined by our experiences as a child. Both Dr. Fox and
Dr. Chohan provide gentle care to their patients and take the time to
encourage even the most hesitant child to become comfortable in the dental
chair.
Some children benefit from the use of nitrous oxide (or “laughing gas”)
which can reduce the discomfort and/or anxiety associated with the injection
of local anesthesia or “freezing”. In some cases, particularly with small
children it can take the place of an injection altogether.
Other children just need the calm reassurance from their dentist that
they are “doing a good job” during their dental appointment. Our goal
is to help your child build the confidence to overcome any reservations
they have about dental procedures and feel good about coming to the dentist.
